Ant-Man to Fall to Third

Ant-Man to fall to third in its second weekend. The latest installment in the sprawling Marvel Cinematic Universe had a good debut, but it was “low” for Marvel standards at $57.2 million.

“The media expects a lot, maybe too much, from Marvel movies,” said Jeff Bock, an analyst with Exhibitor Relations. “This is not a B-list character. It’s barely even a C-list one. It’s a comicbook that hardly anybody collected.”

Ant-Man - The Super Hero Movie

The next evolution of the Marvel Cinematic Universe brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the first time with Marvel Studios' "Ant-Man."

"Ant-Man" doesn't have the same superhero appeal as Captain America, Iron Man, or Thor.

He's not as big, or strong, or super powered. But as the star of his first standalone film, people might soon look to Ant-Man as their favorite Avenger.

Much as in “Iron Man,” the scientist, Dr. Hank Pym, has a rivalry with a more diabolical tech genius (Corey Stoll) who is on the verge of duplicating the shrink-suit but plans to use it for world domination via a different insect: He’s Yellow jacket-Man. Someone needs to open up a can of whoop-ass on this guy, or at least a can of Raid.

First Look: X-Men: Apocalypse

The end is pretty much always nigh in the X-Men universe, but next year our superheroes will truly face the Apocalypse — that is, a 5,000-year-old mutant who goes by the name Apocalypse, played by Oscar Isaac.

As a second bonus, we have some first-look photos for X-Men: Apocalypse, which reveal the official designs and costume of the titular villain, Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac) – as well as iconic X-Men ladies Storm (Alexandra Shipp) and Psylocke (Olivia Munn).

Fox has released the first official images of the young mutants debuting in X-Men: Apocalypse

Chris Pratt Wanted As New Indiana Jones

Before we go any further, we must caution you that this is strictly a rumour, and nothing concrete has been dug up yet. In fact, just by considering the idea, we may all be under threat from a giant boulder. Still: Deadline is reporting that Disney, fresh from bringing the original flavour Han Solo back for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, is now looking to put someone else in the trademark battered fedora as Indiana Jones. That someone – and don’t say you didn’t see this coming – is Chris Pratt.

The man who many compared to Solo in Guardians Of The Galaxy and, from what we’ve seen of the film so far, invokes some thoughts of Doctor Henry Jones Jr. in Jurassic World, is apparently the Mouse House’s choice to succeed Harrison Ford in the iconic role. The company bought the rights to make and distribute any new Indy adventure from Paramount shortly after it closed the big Lucasfilm deal in 2013. Back then, there were rumours that Ford might return for a fifth (wait, there was a fourth?) instalment of the franchise. Now, though, while it’s very, very early days for the idea, and there's no news on whether Indy overlords Steven Spielberg and George Lucas would be invoolved this time, Disney is reportedly pondering someone new, and Pratt fits the bill nicely. He’s a much better known name these days and has proved he can carry off the much-needed blend of self-deprecation and derring-do required for the character. Naturally, any deal will have to take into consideration his busy schedule: he’ll be out and about promoting Jurassic World this summer, is gearing up to shoot the Magnificent Seven remake with Denzel Washington and director Antoine Fuqua and is committed to return as Peter Quill for the next Guardians Of The Galaxy, already scheduled for an April 28, 2017 release here.

Kill Bill 3 ?

Kill Bill is an American two-part action/thriller film written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. Kill Bill was originally scheduled for a single theatrical release, but with a running time of over four hours, it was separated into two movies: Kill Bill Volume 1, released in late 2003, and Kill Bill Volume 2, released in early 2004.

Kill Bill is often noted for its stylish direction and its homages to film genres such as Hong Kong martial arts films, Japanese chanbara films, Italian spaghetti westerns, anime, girls with guns, and rape and revenge films.

Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill franchise is just like its own heroine, it's not yet dead. The supposed to be 4-hour-long movie was then cut into two parts; the first one was released in October 10, 2003 and the second half in April 16, 2004 with over $330 million box-office. So, what's more to come?

A third installment was planned this year to be possibly released in 2015, despite Tarantino's comment saying that there might not be a sequel for the movie. Though the third installment title has been publicly released as "Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair", the story plot has yet to be announced. In fact, Tarantino said that the he and the Weinstein Company had already met to finalize the film.

Still, the fans might come up with a possible plot continuing The Bride's (Uma Thurman) vengeance to her ex-colleagues who attempted to massacre almost everybody during her own wedding party. Her journey of revenge over multiple characters including Lucy Liu (as O-Ren Ishii) and the search for Bill (David Carradine) with her shock over finding out her daughter, whom she thought was dead, is alive. Followed by an intense interrogation between Beatrix (The Bride) and Bill, filled martial arts scenes until the bride herself wins and takes her daughter back, which was then the end for Kill Bill Volume 2. The question is what could possibly follow after that? Are the characters going to be the same?

Well, one thing is for sure, the movie will be filled with amazing martial arts, stunts and guns. Also, Tarantino will be there to work on it.

Guardians Of The Galaxy 2

In a major vote of confidence for director James Gunn and his motley crew, Marvel chose the closing moments of Saturday’s Hall H Comic-Con panel to cheekily announce a sequel is on the way in 2017. Relayed in typically informal fashion by Gunn and Chris “Star Lord” Pratt, the news took the form of a video in which the two men joke about blowing the lid on a GOTG 2 release date. This was revealed to be Jul 27th.

It’s certainly going to generate more buzz for a movie with stronger advance word than a cupcake baked by Nigella Lawson. We’ll bring you all the news on the development of the project as it flies in accompanied by a gun-toting raccoon.

Ben Affleck As Caped Crusader

It does not give much away but a new image of Ben Affleck as the Dark Knight has been released by DC Comics.

The dark picture is being displayed at Comic-Con where Gotham's Caped Crusader's 75th birthday is being celebrated.

Everything from comic books, to original costumes work by the likes of Christian Bale, Michael Keaton and Val Kilmer over the years, are all being exhibited in San Diego.

There are also masks, capes and a Dark Knight exhibition ahead of the release of Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice in 2016.

The film is being directed by Zack Snyder, who has unveiled a few other teasing photos over the last few months.

A Comic-Con appearance from Affleck remains a possibility at Saturday's Warner Bros panel.

DC Comics co-publisher Jim Lee, is a huge Batman fan and said the superhero has moved with the times: "If you look at the costume that was created in 1939, and you look at the costume that he has now and all the costumes in between, you see that all these different creators came on and left their mark with the character added new things to the mythology.

"So it's a living, breathing thing and fans of the character know that when they come of age, when they're ready to, they can step up to the plate and actually take the cowl and guide the destiny of the future of the character themselves.

"So in a way he's a character of everyone as much as he is a part of our company," explains Lee.

An image for the new Ant-Man film was also unveiled at Comic-Con this week, which is attended by over 150,000 people. The film will star Michael Douglas and Paul Rudd.

Amazing Spider-Man 2' Heads for $92 Million-Plus Debut

Sony's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 topped the Friday box office with $35.5 million from 4,324 theaters for a projected North American debut in the $92 million to $97 million range, according to studio insiders.

The superhero sequel -- kicking off the summer season at the box office -- earned an OK B+ CinemaScore from audiences, including an A- among moviegoers under the age of 25. Amazing-Spider Man 2, banking on a strong turnout from families on Saturday, hopes to best the recent $95 million opening of Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Director Marc Webb reteamed with stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone to make the $200 million-plus sequel, which features an array of new castmembers, including Jamie Foxx as the villain Electro and Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn, Spider-Man's friend turned nemesis. Paul Giamatti plays Rhino, a third bad guy.

Comparisons to The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) are complicated since that film opened Tuesday of Fourth of July week, taking in $137 million in its first six days, including $62 million for the weekend. Amazing Spider-Man topped out at $752.2 million globally, successfully relaunching the marquee franchise post Tobey Maguire.

Amazing Spider-Man 2 has already earned more $150 million overseas, where it began rolling out two weeks ago. It opens in another raft of markets this weekend, including in China on Sunday.

Summer almost always begins with a Marvel Comics superhero tentpole. In 2012, Marvel and Disney's The Avengers netted an astounding $207.4 million on its first weekend in May, the highest opening of all time for any time of the year. Last year, Iron Man 3 took in $174.1 million; Thor grossed $65.7 million in 2011; and X-Men Origins: Wolverine made $85.1 million in 2009.

Spider-Man 3, debuting to $151.1 million in 2007, is the No. 3 May opener of all time after Avengers and Iron Man 3.

No other movie dared premiere nationwide opposite Amazing Spider-Man 2, but launching at the specialty box office is Fox Searchlight's British period drama Belle, directed by Amma Asante and starring Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Tom Wilkinson, Miranda Richardson, Penelope Wilton, Matthew Goode and Emily Watson.

Fox's femme-fueled comedy The Other Woman is holding well in its second weekend, grossing $4.8 million Friday from 3,238 theaters to come in No. 2, and pushing its domestic total of $37.9 million.

Sony's Christian film Heaven is for Real, placed No. 3 on its third Friday, grossing $2.4 million from 2,930 locations for a total $59 million.

Winter Soldier fell to No. 4, taking in $2.1 million from 3,179 theaters on its fifth Friday for a North American total of $231.5 million.

Fox's Rio 2 crossed the $100 million on Friday, taking in $1.7 million from 2,314 locations for domestic total of $100.6 million and coming in No. 5.

Hollywood Movie Rio 2 Review and Plot Summary

Rio 2 is a 2014 American 3D computer-animated musical adventure-comedy film produced by Blue Sky Studios and directed by Carlos Saldanha.

Plot Summary
It's a jungle out there for Blu, Jewel and their three kids after they're hurtled Rio de Janeiro to the wilds of the Amazon. As Blu tries to fit in, he goes beak-to-beak with the vengeful Nigel, and meets the most fearsome adversary of all: his father-in-law.

 Review
‘Rio 2′ was Released on April 11 and it’s opening box office numbers flew right past Marvel’s ‘Captain America’ which had already broken box office records before it even opened up in the states.

The much-anticipated sequel, Rio 2, which features the voices of Anne Hathaway, Jesse Eisenberg, Bruno Mars, and Jamie Foxx had such huge numbers on its opening day that it was able to knock record-breaking film Captain America right out of the “number one” spot.

‘Rio 2′ Knocks ‘Captain America’ Out Of The Number One Spot At The Box Office

The film, which takes place in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro, follows Blu (Jesse Eisenberg), Jewel (Anne Hathaway) and their three kids, who leave their domesticated life in the city of Rio for a trip through the Amazon Rainforest, where their owners Linda (Leslie Mann) and Tulio (Rodrigo Santoro) were doing an expedition that seemingly found a hidden tribe of Spix’s Macaws.

On their way there, they are spotted in the city of Manaus by Blu and Jewel’s old nemesis Nigel (Jemaine Clement) the cockatoo, who then decides to seek revenge on the macaws. In order to exact his revenge he enlists a few minions and the heroes have to come to the rescue yet again!

The kid friendly film grossed $12 million, edging out Captain America’s $11.9 million earnings.
‘Rio 2′ — Kids Movie Flys High At The Box Office

Rio 2 brought in $375,000 from its Thursday night shows but also looks to dominate in the weekend box office. The film is on track for $44 million, versus the “first avenger’s” $41 million.

The colorful kid friendly film completely blew away the first installment of the franchise, which earned $10.2 million on Friday in April 2011.

Hollywood Movie Non Stop (2014) Movie Review

NOTE: Within this review there are hints as to how the movie doesn't end, which should be considered a spoiler for those that try and avoid such things.

For what it is, Non-Stop is a satisfying thriller, but it's a standard whodunnit with a slight psychological bend that, had it been pursued to the end, would have actually made it the Hitchcockian thrill ride some are going to attempt to peg it as being. However, to do that would have taken a lot more nerve than a director of Jaume Collet-Serra's standing has shown to possess, though you could argue Orphan (which went all the way to the other side) was more ballsy than most films we get today, even if I wasn't much of a fan, though more as a result of the filmmaking not the actual narrative.

This time Collet-Serra is working with a screenplay from unproven screenwriters John W. Richardson, Chris Roach and Ryan Engle, all first-time feature writers with Roach being a regular writer for the WWE. Given their credits, or lack-of, I would have expected much worse, but as far as generic thrillers go this one keeps you engaged, even if only to find out whether you guessed who's really behind the terrorist threat aboard this seemingly-doomed international flight to London.

Enter U.S. air marshal Bill Marks (Liam Neeson). He's hit hard times. We know this because just before he boards his flight we see him drinking in the parking lot. Never a good sign. Red-eyed and weary he helps a little girl get over her fear of boarding the plane before taking his seat. Meanwhile we're witness to the supporting cast, which includes Lupita Nyong'o as a last second replacement flight attendant, Corey Stoll as a crazy-eyed passenger, Scoot McNairy as the overly-nice man asking for a light, Nate Parker as a techie and Julianne Moore as a woman that wants the window seat.

There's also Anson Mount as a second, douchey air marshal aboard the same flight (he reminded me a lot of a more sinister version of the character played by Eric Lutes in that awful, mid-'90s sitcom "Caroline in the City"), Michelle Dockery as the lead flight attendant and Omar Metwally as Dr. Fahim Nasir, because it wouldn't be a terrorist movie aboard a plane if we didn't hint at Muslim involvement.

What do all of these people have in common? They're all suspects! Even Neeson is a suspect as he begins receiving text messages telling him someone will die every 20 minutes unless $150 million is wired into a specified account. As we soon learn, the account is in his name!

Surprisingly, this familiar little "twist" is where the film really could have found some interesting territory to mine. It may have ultimately been looked at as something of a Fight Club rip-off, but I would have loved to have seen Neeson in that moment of realization.

By the time the dust settles, Non-Stop has some entertaining moments (and a fire extinguisher to the face that actually made me jump). It's not as ham-handed as I expected to be and it's a cut above the "so bad it's good" formula, where it just feels "good enough not to be bad". As far as movies of this sort are concerned, I'm actually glad I saw this one in a theater, though I know now it wouldn't have really mattered had I never seen it at all.

Showcasing her adorable curves in beach wear for ‘Yevadu‘ like this, no doubt Amy made youths go crazy over her red hot looks. Also she invited some persons lodge police cases against her for the same show. Coming to love story, look at Amy’s right hand closely.
