Hollywood Movie Rio 2 Review and Plot Summary

Rio 2 is a 2014 American 3D computer-animated musical adventure-comedy film produced by Blue Sky Studios and directed by Carlos Saldanha.

Plot Summary
It's a jungle out there for Blu, Jewel and their three kids after they're hurtled Rio de Janeiro to the wilds of the Amazon. As Blu tries to fit in, he goes beak-to-beak with the vengeful Nigel, and meets the most fearsome adversary of all: his father-in-law.

 Review
‘Rio 2′ was Released on April 11 and it’s opening box office numbers flew right past Marvel’s ‘Captain America’ which had already broken box office records before it even opened up in the states.

The much-anticipated sequel, Rio 2, which features the voices of Anne Hathaway, Jesse Eisenberg, Bruno Mars, and Jamie Foxx had such huge numbers on its opening day that it was able to knock record-breaking film Captain America right out of the “number one” spot.

The film, which takes place in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro, follows Blu (Jesse Eisenberg), Jewel (Anne Hathaway) and their three kids, who leave their domesticated life in the city of Rio for a trip through the Amazon Rainforest, where their owners Linda (Leslie Mann) and Tulio (Rodrigo Santoro) were doing an expedition that seemingly found a hidden tribe of Spix’s Macaws.


On their way there, they are spotted in the city of Manaus by Blu and Jewel’s old nemesis Nigel (Jemaine Clement) the cockatoo, who then decides to seek revenge on the macaws. In order to exact his revenge he enlists a few minions and the heroes have to come to the rescue yet again!

The kid friendly film grossed $12 million, edging out Captain America’s $11.9 million earnings.
‘Rio 2′ — Kids Movie Flys High At The Box Office

Rio 2 brought in $375,000 from its Thursday night shows but also looks to dominate in the weekend box office. The film is on track for $44 million, versus the “first avenger’s” $41 million.

The colorful kid friendly film completely blew away the first installment of the franchise, which earned $10.2 million on Friday in April 2011.
