Scene involving a woman being slapped cut from Bollywood Movie Drishyam


Bollywood lovers are all set and extremely excited to catch Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam in theatres next week on Friday, July 31. But reportedly, the film went through quick editing right before its release. The Censor Board has clipped a sequence from the Hindi version of Drishyam, where a female character is slapped during interrogation by the cops.

Besides the above visual cut, some words in the dialogues were also asked to be deleted from the soundtrack.

Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty : Hero

The 1983 movie ‘Hero’ has arrived again, this time in a more modern version and with new faces. Serving as the launch pad for Aditya Pancholi’s son Sooraj and Suniel Shetty’s daughter Athiya, the official trailer of the movie was launched by Salman Khan today (July 15) at an event in Mumbai.

Directed by Nikhil Advani, the movie has been produced by Salman Khan and marks the debut of both the lead actors. Sooraj and Athiya are looking extremely sexy on the poster and one just can’t miss looking at Sooraj's tattooed arm and back.

Google doodle salutes Kishore Kumar versatility on his 85th birthday

Google’s latest doodle is dedicated to legendary Indian singer Kishore Kumar on his 85th birth anniversary. The doodle salutes Kumar’s many talents including playback singing, acting, composing music and movie direction.

Though he is best known as one of Indian cinema's greatest playback singers, he was also an actor, lyricist, composer, producer, director, screenplay writer and scriptwriter. The four icons on the the four corners of the Google doodle symbolise this. 

This makes people remember him not only as a singer but also as a composer, actor and all that he had tried his hands on and excelled amazingly.

‘Transformers: Age Of Extinction’ Crosses $1B At Global Box Office

The Paramount tentpole reached the milestone thanks in large part to a massive showing in China, where Age of Extinction is the top-grossing title of all time, with more than $300 million in ticket sales (it's the first film to ever cross $300 million at the Chinese box office).

Ahead of today’s news, Paramount Pictures had already extended its first-look deal with tentpole director-producer Bay and his Platinum Dunes. The studio has reason to like being in the Bay business. His films have made more than $6B worldwide, and his Transformers series now includes two $1B+ grossers while the first movie in 2007 earned more than $700M worldwide, and the sequel, Revenge Of The Fallen, grossed more than $830M in 2009.

Kangana Ranaut on hike in her fees


Rumours are abuzz that Kangana Ranaut, who is riding high on the success of her last hit “Queen”, has hiked her fee by 50 percent. The actress says she chose to hike her fees as she believes she deserves it.

The 27-year-old was present at the launch of the cover of Grazia magazine that features her. Here, on being asked about the reason to hike her fees, she said: “There is no particular reason. I have been working for the last seven years and analysing whatever I have earned till date in this profession, I think I deserve and so I am demanding money.

“I don’t think I am not worthy of that kind of fee. So that is my personal decision.”

Kangana made her Bollywood debut with 2006 release hit “Gangster” and since then featured in a number of films and won numerous awards and accolades. Currently, she has almost three films in her kitty. Her last releases were “Queen” and “Revolver Rani”.

Aamir Khan goes NUDE in PK movie poster

Here is the extremely bold and shocking poster of the Aamir Khan starrer 'P.K.'. It has Aamir posing completely in the nude with only a stereo system covering his front. Aamir is standing on a railway track in what looks like a deserted land, with a mad expression on his face.

Aamir even got on to a micro-blogging site to express his nervousness over the release of the film’s poster. “What do you think guys? Tell me fast... butterflies in my stomach!!!,” posted Aamir.

'Fifty Shades' Preview Is Most Viewed Trailer of 2014

The first trailer for the erotic drama based on the best-selling EL James novel has racked up a stunning 36.4 million YouTube views since its release on July 24, according to technology firm Zefr, which tracks the numbers.
Fifty Shades had the best opening week for any trailer in 2014. The previous high was the 31 million views Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles got in its debut frame at the end of March. Godzilla and Transformers: Age of Extinction both notched 26.3 million views in their first weeks, while Dumb and Dumber Too did 23.5 million.
Transformers, which was released on June 27, has grossed about $966 million worldwide. Godzilla, which was released on May 16, has grossed about $498 million worldwide to date. TMNT hits theaters on Aug. 8, while Dumb and Dumber Too opens Nov. 14.
The Fifty Shades trailer was released so it could play before Lucy, the new action movie starring Scarlett Johansson.

Kick - Highest Weekend Collection of the year

He may have failed to pour his magic at the Box Office with Jai Ho this year, but Salman Khan has made a comeback with all guns blazing. Kick that released on Friday has emerged as the ‘Highest’ opener of the year. Having collected more than 50 crores in just two days, the film earned a mammoth 30.18 crores on Sunday to make its tally go up to near 84 crores. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh confirmed the figures on Twitter as he tweeted “#Kick has a SPECTACULAR weekend. Fri 26.50 cr, Sat 27.15 cr, Sun 30.18 cr. Total: ₹ 83.83 cr nett.

Actress Isha Koppikar blessed with a baby girl

Isha Koppikar (born 19 September 1976), is an Indian actress and model who has appeared in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi and Hindi films. Isha Koppikar was blessed with a baby girl on July 25. The actress tied the knot in November 2009 with hotelier Timmy Narang. Though Isha, who wasn’t making public appearances lately, hadn’t confirmed about her pregnancy, it was only recently that her husband shared the news with the media. Well we too congratulate the couple on this new addition to their family!

'Kahaani' turns into 'Deity'

Sujoy Ghosh’s critically acclaimed and Vidya Balan starrer ‘Kahaani’ is going English! Yes, the National Award winning film is being remade for Western and international audiences, by none other than YRF Entertainment.

Titled as ‘Deity’, the English version will be directed by Niels Arden Oplev ("The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo"). Jose Rivera ("The Motorcycle Diaries") and Richard Regen ("Tehran") have scripted the adaptation. Excited over this latest development, Sujoy Ghosh said, "It's an incredible step by YRF. Years back Aditya Chopra had said he wanted to make ‘Kahaani’ for a global audience... I thought he was kidding. But obviously not. YRF has left no stone unturned on making the English version. The new script by Jose Rivera and Richard Regen is perfectly suited for the Western audience and what I am really looking forward is to see Niels direct this version. I am sure he will bring a unique vision to the Western version. I am totally excited about this!"

Nazia Hussain in Telugu version of Aashiqui 2




Readers may recall that we had reported about Sanjay Dutt's niece Nazia Hussain debuting in Bollywood in Dutt's home production Hasmukh Pigal Gaya.

The latest update is that she has now been signed up to play the role of Shraddha Kapoor in the Telugu version of Aashiqui 2. Reports have it that Nazia, who had recently bagged the role, is truly very excited to enter Tollywood.

Shraddha and Sidharth stayed underwater for seven hours

Shraddha Kapoor is a trained diver while Sidharth Malhotra loves scuba diving. For shooting the song Galiyan in Mohit Suri's Ek Villain, they were both very excited and involved in being underwater during the seven hours it took to shoot.

While normally when you go underwater, the divers need to carry oxygen cylinders, Shraddha and Sidharth had French divers carrying oxygen cylinders following them.

Bollywood award for Prithviraj

Now it seems to be a good time for Malayalam movie industry and movie lovers. Their actors are getting honoured everywhere. Suraj Vanjaramood got the national award and now Prithviraj has been given the IBNLive Award for the best supporting actor. Prithvi got this award for his Hindi movie ‘Aurangzeb’.

Prithvi had his bollywood venture with Rani Mukherjee in the movie ‘Aiyyaa’. The movie didn’t do well in the box office. His role in ‘Aurangzeb’ is of a police officer named ACP Arya and the movie is narrated from his point of view. His character in this movie is seen to be trapped between truth and the responsibilities towards his family.

The movie directed by Atul Sabharwal was released in 2013. Arjun Kapoor played the lead role. Sashaa Agha, Rishi Kapoor, Jackie Shroff and Swara Bhasker were also part of this movie.

Sridevi to start work on two films

After making a cool comeback with English Vinglish two years ago, Sridevi is surging ahead in her second showbiz innings.

The actress has now signed not one but two films. Mirror has it that the actress will first start shooting in September for a Tamil film produced by Shebu and Selvaraj. Buzz is, Kamal Haasan's daughter Shruti Haasan and South star Vijay will also feature in it.

Set in Chennai it is a fantasy flick with Sridevi in a major role. Next in line is a women oriented subject in Hindi helmed by Ravi Udyawar (of RU Films), a renowned Southern ad filmmaker. This film which will be shot in Delhi, will go on floors in October and will be produced by her husband Boney Kapoor.

Kona Venkat who has written the story of Ravi's film, says, "I bumped into Sridevi and Boney Kapoor in Manhattan. We got talking and I sketched out this story to them. They were interested. After a few days, I met Sridevi again to give her an official narration."

The story revolves around an independent, married woman. The movie is a trilingual and will be made in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. "But the Hindi version is the main one. The rest of th cast will be decided soon," adds Venkat.

Aamir, Ajay, Sonakshi announced WORST actors

Actors Ajay Devgn and Sonakshi Sinha were announced the worst actors of 2013 at the Golden Kela Awards held here Saturday. Even Aamir Khan won an award for his performance in 'Dhoom:3'.

Now in its sixth year, the Golden Kela Awards honoured the worst in Bollywood at an event held at the India Habitat Centre here. Ajay won the worst actor award for 'Himmatwala', which was also named the worst film and Sonakshi was cited for 'R...Rajkumar'. "In Bollywood today, the box office figures have no correlation to the quality of the film. Our sincerest hope is that 10 years down the line, the figures will be forgotten, while the 'Kelas' they got are remembered," Anant Singh, creative head, Golden Kela Awards, said in a statement.

The honour for the worst actor in supporting role went to Aditya Roy Kapoor for 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' and Deepika Padukone, Jacqueline Fernandes and Amisha Patel jointly won the worst supporting actor (female) for 'Race 2'. As part of the special awards, Deepika also won Dara Singh award for the worst accent for 'Chennai Express'. The Kela for the worst director went to Sanjay Leela Bhansali for 'Goliyon Ki Raas Leela...Ram Leela'.

The Baawra Ho Gaya Hai Ke award went to Aamir for 'Dhoom:3'. "Aamir Khan once said that he loves the Kela Awards, because all other awards are rigged. Wonder what he has to say about us now," quipped Singh. 'Dhoom:3' also shared the Ra.One Award for Worst Premise with 'Krrish 3'.

Voters chose 'Party all night' from 'Boss' as most irritating song.

There were Anti-Kela awards too, honouring some of Bollywood's good efforts. They were given to four outstanding films - 'Saheb Biwi aur Gangster Returns', 'Go Goa Gone', 'The Lunchbox' and 'Shahid'.

Ranbir Kapoor avoids box-office clash with Aamir Khan?

It seems another box-office showdown has been averted. This Christmas, Aamir Khan-starrer 'Peekay' was to release with Ranbir Kapoor's 'Bombay Velvet'. However, now reports suggest that 'Bombay Velvet' release date may be pushed back to avert the clash.

A Mid-Day report says that Bombay Velvet's release date was announced before they even started the shooting. However, Fox Star Studios changed the release date when they got to know that Aamir's film is releasing on the same day. However, the report further says that nothing is confirmed yet.

Alia Bhatt still jokes about her kiss with Arjun Kapoor

As far as her kiss with Arjun Kapoor in 2 States goes, Alia Bhatt sure's making light of it.

Writer Chetan Bhagat, on whose book the film is based, recently posted about his kid asking him, 'Dad, why are you kissing mom so much in the 2 States movie ads?' adding, 'Sab tumhari (Alia's) galti hai'.

The actress replied in jest, "We're following the book, Sir." Seemingly impressed with her innocence, he wondered, "Wah, so innocent! Kuch zyaada hi dil se kar rahe ho. Likhe hum, karo tum... wah wah.. kya insaaf hai."

When Big B got nostalgic about ‘young man’ Rajini

As the curtains went up on the trailer of Rajinikanth's epic film Kochadaiiyaan — The Legend at a 3D screen in the city, pride was writ large on the legend's face as he showcased his daughter and director Soundarya Rajnikanth Ashwin's work to his friends from Bollywood.

Calling Rajinikanth a "young man", Big B shared many fond memories of their meetings. The film, produced by Eros International and MediaOne, releases this April.

Kangana Ranaut copies Taylor Swift?

Kangana Ranaut was in a mood to indulge and help indulge at the success bash of Queen as she advised all the crew members to have a good time. Rajkummar Rao, director Vikas Bahl and the rest of the film's team took her advice and partied hard.

Shah Rukh Khan to romance Vaani Kapoor in 'Fan'?

Shah Rukh Khan always find a new project in the form of actors trying to make it big in Bollywood. There was Deepika Padukone and Anushka Sharma. Next in line: 'Shuddh Desi Romance' actress Vaani Kapoor.

How much of this is SRK's doing, we won't know but a leading daily reports, that the Yash Raj production directed by Manish Sharma will most probably star Vaani opposite Shah Rukh. Reportedly Parineeti Chopra and Anushka Sharma's names did come up, but Vaani became the final choice.

Post 'Shuddh Desi Romance', Vaani has worked in Aaha Kalyanam, the Tamil remake of 'Band Baaja Baaraat'.

'Fan' is reported to go on the floors later this year.
