‘Transformers: Age Of Extinction’ Crosses $1B At Global Box Office

The Paramount tentpole reached the milestone thanks in large part to a massive showing in China, where Age of Extinction is the top-grossing title of all time, with more than $300 million in ticket sales (it's the first film to ever cross $300 million at the Chinese box office).

Ahead of today’s news, Paramount Pictures had already extended its first-look deal with tentpole director-producer Bay and his Platinum Dunes. The studio has reason to like being in the Bay business. His films have made more than $6B worldwide, and his Transformers series now includes two $1B+ grossers while the first movie in 2007 earned more than $700M worldwide, and the sequel, Revenge Of The Fallen, grossed more than $830M in 2009.
